about
JEFF (from the unreleased liner notes circa 2000): "our first true exploration into free jazz. Free jazz became a big influence on us around this time – especially for Aaron & Rich. With Rich’s acquisition of Don (or, Don’s acquisition of Rich, if you look at it that way), we were really able to play around with this “new” music – and we did quite a lot. The last year or so of our shows always had a part of the show devoted to our improvisations. I have no doubt in my mind that, had we not broken-up, we would have eventually indulged ourselves and done a full-length free jazz record. Some things are just not meant to be."
lyrics
Sell him the toys, sell her the toys. Good little girls, good little boys. She wasn’t born thinking “beauty” is a waist like an hourglass - chest without nipples. He wasn’t born thinking fun is destruction, war and death. It can’t be good, clean fun when gender roles sell the toys… Unexpecting and accepting androgynous girls and boys. And what else could they be, while farcical identities are spooned down their bibbed-up little throats? They’ve got your plight pre-packaged, neatly wrapped, and stuffed in stockings in December. Market-research-sodomy through harmless gifts and games.
